(Music) A New Dawn Original Film Soundtrack

Release Date: 03/04/2026
Catalog Number: POCS-23068

The original soundtrack for A New Dawn, the groundbreaking first feature-length animated film by Yoshitoshi Shinomiya, is here. Shinomiya, renowned as a Japanese painter, has also contributed to celebrated works such as Your Name. (dir. Makoto Shinkai) and In This Corner of the World (dir. Sunao Katabuchi).

All tracks were produced by Shuta Hasunuma, including the theme song "Aoba - Movie Ver.," performed by imase.

Across 15 tracks, the album weaves catchy, approachable piano melodies with elegant string arrangements and lush synthesizer tones. Its emotionally rich, minimalist-inspired textures resonate subtly, enhancing both the characters' inner worlds and the film's beautiful landscapes.

Reflecting the fresh, painterly feel of each shot, the album evokes a rich sense of color that resonates with delicate emotions.

The theme song, "Aoba - Movie Ver.," was written and composed by imase. Created in collaboration with Shuta Hasunuma, who helped define the soundtrack's aesthetic, it stands as a new masterpiece that showcases a previously unseen side of imase.

The performance features Shuta Ishizuka (guitar, bass) and Seigen Tokuzawa (cello), both of whom have participated in Shuta Hasunuma's past works, joined by Aya Ito (1st violin) and Miho Chigyo (2nd violin). The arrangement leaves a pleasant lingering impression in the film and stands as an indispensable track on the soundtrack.

Toshihiko Kasai served as recording engineer, Matt Colton as mixing engineer, and Seri Tanaka handled the cover art design.
