(Story)
One foggy night, a mysterious ghost ship attacks luxury liners and oil tankers, plunging the entire world into a vortex of terror. Soon after, Golem, a giant robot claiming to be an emissary of the ghost ship, appears and begins laying waste to the once-peaceful city.

After losing his adoptive parents in the devastation, the young Hayato vows revenge. Together with his faithful dog Jack, he sets out in pursuit of Golem... only to find himself confronted by an even greater threat. Just when all seems lost, the one that comes to Hayato's rescue is, believe it or not, the flying ghost ship itself... Is the ghost ship friend or foe? And what is the sinister conspiracy surrounding Boa, the root of all evil!?

Based on the original manga by Shotaro Ishinomori, with a screenplay by Masaki Tsuji and Hiroshi Ikeda. Directed by Hiroshi Ikeda, known for Animal Treasure Island. This distinctive feature-length sci-fi horror anime was brought to life by an all-star team of creators, including the legendary Hayao Miyazaki.
